MICHAEL SOBCZAK

Part-Time Lecturer

Michael Sobczak is a recent (2024) graduate and holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Michael’s professional background includes a healthy dose of customer service and technical support roles. At a privately owned movie theater, Michael became very involved in the installation and maintenance of the projection equipment, overseeing the conversion from film projectors to digital media servers, before working as the general manager at one of the sites. Michael also has extensive experience with computer software/hardware diagnostics, small to medium network architecture, and phone/tablet repair from work at various computer repair shops, most recently on campus with Cal Poly’s Information Technology Services (ITS).

Fun Facts

  • Spent two summers in high school at the Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics at UCSC
  • Co-owns a photo booth company with his wife
  • Has enterprise-grade computer equipment running in his closet “Just for fun”
