Design, Build, Fly
About us
Cal Poly DBF is a club that competes annually in AIAA's DBF Competition, in which university teams from around the world apply rigorous engineering methods to create an unmanned, electric-power, radio-control aircraft, with the goal to perform the best according to the mission profile set forth by AIAA. Over the course of the year we design, build, and fly (hence the name, creative we know) about three prototype aircraft and one competition aircraft. We also conduct simultaneous research and testing in areas of interest that we feel we can incorporate into future prototypes or future years. Most of our design work is most relevant for Aerospace and Mechanical majors, but all backgrounds and experience are welcome.
