Design, Build, Fly
The Design, Build, Fly (DBF) club competes annually in an international competition held by AIAA. Each year AIAA publishes a set of rules which generally include three separate missions in which a remote controlled aircraft should be able to complete. The first mission is a speed mission, the second mission involves choosing an amount of cargo to carry, and the third mission involves carrying specified cargo as fast as you can. The team receives a score for each mission based on the scoring equations in the rules. The goal of DBF is to compete and place well in this annual competition. DBF is a great club to join as it allows members to complete a full design cycle of an airplane including manufacturing and flying which is something most students do not normally get to do. Students of all experience levels are welcome.
