Collaborative Autonomous Aircraft Project
ABOUT US
The Collaborative Autonomous Aircraft Project (CAAP) is a club that partners
with Northrop Grumman and Cal Poly Pomona to design, manufacture, and
test autonomous vehicles.
Throughout the academic year, our multidisciplinary teams apply engineering
principles to develop unmanned, electric, autonomous vehicles capable of
completing a defined mission. Members gain hands-on experience in vehicle
design, manufacturing, testing, and systems integration, while also presenting
their progress and results directly to Northrop Grumman engineers.
Later in the year, CAAP members visit Northrop Grumman facilities to present
their work, demonstrate our vehicles, and tour professional engineering
environments. The club is especially suited to students in mechanical
engineering, aerospace engineering, computer engineering, electrical
engineering, and computer science, though students from all majors are welcome.
