ABOUT US

Sigma Gamma Tau (ΣΓΤ) is Cal Poly's Aerospace Engineering Honor Society. The objectives of our Society, as stated in the preamble of the national constitution, are, "to recognize and honor those individuals in the field of Aeronautics and Astronautics who have, through scholarship, integrity, and outstanding achievement, been a credit to their profession. The society seeks to foster a high standard of ethics and professional practice and create a spirit of loyalty and fellowship, particularly among students of Aerospace Engineering. Sigma Gamma Tau is a national society that seeks to identify and recognize achievement and excellence in the Aerospace field. There are 50 collegiate chapters with more than 20,000 members. Every year, students, alumni, and professionals that meet the standards of the society are nominated for membership.

Membership Guidelines

Every student in Aerospace Engineering at the University who meets certain class rankings, has at least a B (85%) grade point average, and has completed at least 3 semesters of college credit will receive an invitation to attend an informational meeting. More information will be given on how to obtain society membership. The rankings are as follows:
