Flight Test and Airplane Prototype Lab
Cal Poly Flight Test Laboratory is a state-of-the-art flight test facility located at San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport. The laboratory operates two aircraft: an experimental RV-7A and a Cirrus SR22T. The RV-7A is fully instrumented with advanced equipment comparable to that used at leading flight test centers worldwide. The facility also includes a ground-station room with multiple telemetry capabilities. An integrated aircraft-prototyping laboratory supports the flight test complex. It is equipped with tools and CNC machinery, including a large-format five-axis router, enabling the modification and fabrication of parts for flight-test purposes.
