Welcome to Aerospace Engineering!

Congratulations on your acceptance into Cal Poly's Aerospace Engineering program. The faculty and I look forward to working with you. Please explore this website to learn more about our program, students, and alumni.

Two sources of advising are available. The College of Engineering Advising Center is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. They can be reached at (805) 756-1461. I also serve as your faculty advisor-I have regular office hours scheduled each quarter. Most of your questions and concerns can be answered on-line.

Make sure to review http://www.eadvise.calpoly.edu/policy/probation.php before choosing courses for your first quarter. Students within the College of Engineering are expected to enroll in a minimum of 6 units of coursework from their major and/or support requirements each quarter. In addition, students are not to exceed more than 4 units of coursework each quarter that is not degree applicable.

Registration will begin for new students in early August. For registration information go to On-Line Advising (OLA) at: http://ola.calpoly.edu/.

Also, I would encourage you to read the assigned summer reading selection before fall quarter; see http://www.preface.calpoly.edu.

We are here to help you, and we look forward to your participation in university and department activities that will enhance your education and boost your future success. We extend a hearty welcome and challenge you to enjoy your "hands-on" Cal Poly experiences to the fullest!

Best Regards,

Jordi Puig-Suari, Ph.D.
